Aam Aadmi Party Onion Scam | Sukhpal Singh Khaira

Breaking the heights of irony, the Aam Aadmi Punjab party which came into power on the basis of accusing BJP and Congress on corruption, have been itself deep down drowned in the laps of corrupt subsidy practices.  In the recent onion crisis in Delhi, AAP party have been circled on making a scam on the onions.
As per The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (Nafed) has made a statement that price at which AAP purchased onions from Nasik and the price at which they sold at Delhi had a very huge difference.

The RTI documents tell that Delhi AAP government had purchased 2511 metric tones of onions from Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) at an average price of Rs 18.57/kg, including cess and other local expenses, but sold it at Rs 30/kg.

But as per RTI replies, the Kejriwal AAP government began the sale of onions on August 10. However, it could only sell 575.32 metric tonnes of onions till September 2. This means that more than 4,400 metric tonnes of onions remained stashed in godowns while Delhiites were reeling under surging prices of the vegetable. The price of onion skyrocketed to Rs 80 a kg in August and despite the government’s assurances the price never came down below Rs 60-per-kg mark.
